TARGET DRONES
Target Drone: MALE 82Radio controlled target drones were used at the Lohtaja military training ground mainly for artillery target practice. The drone itself was used as the target during missile live firings. With the help from a radar system, a drone can have a displacement of up to 25km and still be accurately located. When used in target practice, the drone had a sleeve target hanging 150m behind which was used as for tracking cannon accuracy. The MALE 82 target drone is 170kg in weight, consists of an aluminum chasis, a 90hp motor and a top speed of 110 m/s. A replica of the target drone can be found in the museum outdoor area. UA, NH1
Target Drone: MALE 97The smaller size 8kg radio-remote controlled target drones are used for cannon accuracy testing. However, due to its speed and size, the drone may also be used in infantry target practice. The target drone has a flying speed of 55 m/s. NH1
